Position Overview
Advanced General Radiology, LLC based out of NMC Health Hospital in Newton, KS is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Diagnostic Radiologist to join as a long term part-time, salaried 1099 independent contractor. This role is ideal for a radiologist who enjoys consistent workflow, broad modality coverage, and a supportive onsite environment.
The schedule blends onsite presence, remote weekend coverage, and generous vacation flexibility—all while maintaining a manageable, evenly distributed caseload.
Work Schedule & Structure
- Onsite Coverage: 1 full day per week on campus (8AM-5PM), TeleRad coverage after 5pm, as well as weekends/holidays
- Remote Coverage: 1 weekend per month on average (Non-time sensitive over-reads of ER and Inpatient studies with Teleradiology Prelims), Hospital provides and maintains a home reading station with Mammography Certified monitors.
- Vacation Coverage: Radiologist will provide onsite coverage for 6-8 full weeks of the primary radiologist’s vacation spaced throughout the year.
Position includes ~10 weeks of vacation annually
Compensation Structure
Part-time, salaried 1099 independent contractor.
Competitive pay of $4500 per onsite work day and $2000/day for weekend and holiday remote shifts.
Minimum 2 year contract.
Clinical Expectations
High volume reader comfortable with all major modalities
Approx. 150 studies per day, distributed across:
- X-ray
- CT
- MRI
- Ultrasound
- Mammography
- PET
- Minimal nuclear medicine
Must be comfortable providing comprehensive diagnostic interpretations across all modalities.
Exams are majority routine outpatient imaging with a number of Emergency Department and Inpatient cases per day.
Procedural & Workflow Support
A full-time Radiologist Assistant is embedded in the department and will:
- Perform all fluoroscopy
- The majority of procedural work
- Support workflow efficiency and patient throughput and handle many of the incoming phone calls.
This allows the radiologist to focus primarily on diagnostic reading.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver timely, accurate diagnostic interpretations across all modalities
- Collaborate with technologists, clinicians, and administrative staff
- Provide consultative support to referring providers
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Board-certified/eligible in Diagnostic Radiology

Recent imaging department upgrades include Siemens Aera 1.5T MRI, New Canon fluoroscopy suite with upcoming new Canon CT set for install early next year.
Advanced General Radiology LLC has a strong working relationship with the hospital administration and has been the exclusive imaging services provider for NMC Health and its regional family medicine clinics for over 13 years.
