About this role

Partnership & Equity  |  Hospital + Outpatient Practice |  Multi-Speciality

Vascular & Interventional Specialists (VIS) is recruiting two fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologists to help establish a new hospital-based Interventional Radiology program while building a comprehensive outpatient practice in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

This is not a traditional employed hospital position. Physicians will join a physician-led vascular practice with a clear pathway to partnership and equity while practicing across both the hospital and VIS outpatient procedure centers.

The defining feature of this opportunity is the close integration with an established vascular surgery practice. Rather than practicing in isolation, you'll work alongside experienced vascular surgeons who serve as true clinical partners - providing collaboration, shared decision-making, and immediate surgical backup for complex arterial disease, trauma, limb-threatening ischemia, and other advanced vascular pathology. This level of vascular surgery support is exceptionally uncommon in private-practice Interventional Radiology and creates an environment where physicians can confidently perform the full breadth of modern IR.

PRACTICE HIGHLIGHTS

  • 100% Interventional Radiology (no diagnostic radiology responsibilities)
  • Unique physician-to-physician collaboration with an experienced vascular surgery team
  • Immediate vascular surgery backup for complex arterial and trauma cases
  • Practice at a busy Level II Trauma Center with two new GE angiography suites
  • Hospital and outpatient practice model with immediate procedural volume
  •  Build an outpatient clinic and referral base while maintaining a diverse inpatient practice
  • Dedicated APP support and multidisciplinary cardiovascular team
  •  Leadership opportunities as the Kansas City program expands

CLINICAL SCOPE

Hospital practice includes trauma embolization, peripheral vascular interventions, biopsies, drainage procedures, GI interventions, central venous access, women's health procedures, and the full spectrum of inpatient Interventional Radiology.

Outpatient practice includes Prostate Artery Embolization (PAE), Peripheral Arterial Disease interventions, Venous Interventions, Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE), Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE), kyphoplasty, and additional image-guided therapies tailored to physician interests.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • $800,000 guaranteed compensation
  • Productivity incentive beginning after Year 1
  • Partnership and equity opportunity
  • Approximately 10 weeks paid time off
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Long-term physician ownership and wealth-building potential
