Description
The Executive & Academic Search team with Doximity Talent Solutions has partnered with the Tulane University School of Medicine on the national search for an exceptional academic leader to serve as the Chair, Department of Radiology. The Chair provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of the department’s clinical, educational, and research missions. Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Dean of the School of Medicine, L. Lee Hamm, MD, the Chair is responsible for advancing excellence in patient care, fostering innovation in medical education, promoting scholarly activity, and ensuring operational effectiveness across multiple clinical sites.
This chair will develop and implement a strategic vision for the department that aligns with the broader School of Medicine goals while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high-performance among the faculty and staff. The Chair will lead recruitment efforts to attract top-tier talent with a focus on continued sub-specialization in radiology as well as faculty depth. You will oversee and ensure professional development initiatives to retain a world-class team.
Through a combination of clinical expertise, administrative acumen, and a commitment to the tripartite mission of academic medicine, the Chair will elevate the department’s reputation, enhance its visibility, and ensure its long-term sustainability in a competitive and rapidly changing healthcare environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
• MD or DO degree with board certification in Radiology
• Demonstrated record of progressive leadership and administrative experience in an academic medical center
• Proven ability to lead within complex university and health care system environments
• Strong track record of clinical excellence and commitment to patient-centered care
• Evidence of scholarly productivity appropriate for appointment at the rank of Professor
• Strategic thinking ability with demonstrated success in planning and execution
• Financial acumen and experience with budget management
Preferred:
• Track record of successful partnership development with health system organizations
• Experience managing multi-site clinical operations
• Demonstrated success in faculty recruitment, development, and retention
• Experience with clinical service line development and growth initiatives
• Fellowship training in a radiology subspecialty
