CT Technologist I: Level I is intended for candidates right out of school or with less than 1 year of experience, or individuals still working on developing expert-level competency. Pay for Level I ranges between $31.25 - $48.44
CT Technologist II: Level II is intended for candidates with current clinical competency, as well as deep familiarity with all radiography imaging equipment used at Denver Health. Denver Health is invested in its team members, and we will help you get here if you do not yet qualify! On the job training is available to qualify for this level.
Under the direction of a radiologist, performs computed tomographic (CT) examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical imaging procedures that entail application of ionizing radiation; therefore, prudent judgment, strong technical skills, and commitment to patient safety are considered requisite professional characteristics for individuals assuming the position as a CT technologist.
Essential Functions:
- Achieve clinical competency within advanced imaging techniques of Computed Tomography (30%)
- To include 3D Gout, 3D Cartilage, Cardiac Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA)
- Proficient in all clinical roles and competencies within Computed Tomography, perform any study as needed
- Complete a par level of studies to ensure retention of clinical competencies
- Maintain superuser status of Syngo and 3D reconstruction software. (25%)
- Responsible for troubleshooting and utilizing Syngo independently
- Responsible for performing 3D reconstructions from outside hospital imaging
- Advanced IV placement (10%)
- Utilize Ultrasound guidance for IV placement
- Pediatric IV placement
- Complete high level PACS duties (10%)
- Assess and correct issues on the admins list within PACS
- Assess and ensure reports are accurate and available in the appropriate location
- Resolves and corrects real time issues that involve PACS
- Leadership and team growth (25%)
- Steps into leading others as needed
- Assess and prioritize imaging needs within Computed Tomography
- Educates the level I staff members to elevate them to level II clinical status
- Directly supervises staff members in the cross training program
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge in how to operate CT equipment and related technology.
- Knowledge of how to address age-specific care needs of patients.
- Demonstrated technical skill sets in the performance of CT studies.
- Demonstrable interpersonal skill sets that lead to effective communication and collaborations.
- Competency in interpreting physician order requests for CT imaging studies.
- Ability to exercise prudent judgment in selecting and configuring equipment settings to compensate for patient physiologic variances.
- Ability to consistently produce quality images of various anatomical structures.
Requirements
Education:
- Associate's Degree Required
Work Experience:
- 1-3 years of professional work experience in performing CT imaging studies. Required
Licenses:
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required and
- RTR-RT Radiography - ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required and
- RTCT-RT Computed Tomography - ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required
