Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiology Technologist with at least one year of experience to join our dynamic imaging team on a part-time basis in Otisville, NY. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of medical imaging procedures, including X-ray, CT, PET scans, and mammography, and demonstrate proficiency in various diagnostic evaluation techniques. Duties
Perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-ray, CT scans, PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, and sonography with accuracy and attention to detail.
Ensure proper patient positioning and immobilization techniques to obtain optimal images for diagnostic purposes.
Maintain thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in diagnostic evaluation and image interpretation.
Follow strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety during procedures.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, radiologists, and healthcare team members to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Operate advanced imaging equipment including Level I Trauma Center protocols and emergency room procedures when necessary.
Document all procedures meticulously within the medical record system while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Assist in the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of imaging equipment to ensure consistent performance quality.
Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum of one year of experience as a Radiology Technologist in a clinical setting; experience in emergency room or trauma center environments is preferred.
Proficiency in performing diverse imaging modalities such as X-ray, CT, PET scan, mammography, DEXA scan, sonography, and diagnostic radiology techniques.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation processes.
Familiarity with nuclear medicine procedures and emergency medicine protocols is advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to adhere to aseptic technique standards and safety guidelines within high-pressure environments like Level I Trauma Centers.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent credentialing body is required; state licensure if applicable.
